Do I need to maintain my motor/automatic setup?

V2 motors need virtually no maintenance. All that is required is to obviously keep the motors and photocells free from grime and insects et cetera, and to grease any pivot points regularly.

How can I automate my existing gate?

This question varies for each individual setup however, if the gate is in good working condition a customer has multiple options.

There are two types of commonly used motors one for swing gates and one for sliding gates. For swing gates, you would need to first check the hinge quality.

A quality hinge should not have a buildup of rust and gunk. The hinge shouldn’t be bent downwards. The posts should be solid and well supported. Finally check for space, a motor installation will need a minimum of 100mm to the side of the gate in order to be mounted.

For sliding gates, the gate needs to be checked that its horizontally straight, the ground is preferably levelled (unlevelled grounding would require a more powerful motor). Both types of motors are available in AC/DC configurations.

How can I program my motor?

This varies between the motors, please refer to the product manual that came with the item. Alternatively please download the online PDFs.

How do I determine what type of motor will suit my gate?

For home with a standard driveway (four meters wide), a 300 - 600kg capacity motor would suit sliding gates. For this type of application we recommend the choice of the following models: Alfariss, Ayros, Gold, Forteco

For a swing gate motor, a 200 - 300kg capacity swing motor would suffice. We recommend the Blitz and Zariss series for this use.

Is a DC motor better than an AC motor?

DC motors are generally more stable as they have less voltage running through it and thus produce less heat. However due to their larger voltages AC motors are able to move heavier gates. AC gates are often preferred for industrial jobs where gates can get as heavy as 1.5T.

What about solar power?

Solar power is a cost effective way of powering a motor. If you don’t plan to use the gate constantly throughout the day (no more than 10-20 cycles throughout the day, weather depending) or you are unable to get wiring to the gate then solar is a viable solution.

What if I am not at home when you deliver my goods?

Delivery is usually attempted straight to your door. If there is no one available to sign for the delivery, or if the local delivery service does not offer this direct service, then a card will be left in your mailbox advising you of either a depot or newsagent to collect your parcel from, or in the case of some courier deliveries, a contact number to call to re-arrange the delivery.

What if I have a large order?

Orders which exceed 50kg will need to be calculated at a variable rate. A representative will be in contact with you to arrange a custom freight solution.

What if there’s a power outage, how can I open my gate?

All the gate motors we sell have an overwrite feature which can manually release the gate. Please refer to the products manual for specific guidance.

What type of payment do you accept?

We offer an array of payment options. Some are quicker than others, some are online, some are offline - the choice is yours. We accept:

  • Visa
  • MasterCard
  • Direct Deposit
What type of tools will I need to setup a kit for my gate?

Any work related to the electricity mains requires a licensed electrician to complete. Please do not attempt it yourself. Always use the correct safety gear when operating high powered tools. For the most part you’ll need a screw driver, quality drill set and wrench.

What type of warranty do you provide?

We provide a two year warranty on all gate motors. Accessories are not covered due to natural wear and tear. If an item is “dead on arrival” or fault, we will replace it. Warranty excludes improper installation. Please follow the provided installation manual to install correctly.

Further Information

What types of access control options are available?

Remote controls intercoms, push buttons, sensors, loop detectors. Please view our accessories section.

What’s the difference between AC and DC power?

AC (alternating current) is the live wire 240 volt requiring the aid of a licensed electrician to setup. DC (direct current) is a low voltage alternative running at 24 volts. DC is considered safer and easier to deal with as it can be implemented without the need for digging deep trenches for cabling.

Where do I get help for installation?

Please use our installation videos as a guide; also browse through the product manual. If you still require assistance please contact our technical assist number. We can provide a number for a technical assistant if needed.
